About

Classical songs that move body and brain; concert, therapy, research

CONCERT:
formed in 2019 (as Song Surgery), Songs that Move co-founders Bibi Heal (soprano) and Stephen Barlow (pianist) have become known for exquisitely crafted concerts, performed in intimate settings and presented in ways that are animated and powerful. Each song is individually described and ‘prescribed’, bringing these miniature worlds vividly to life, enabling audiences to find themselves connected to the stories within.

THERAPY: a ground-breaking programme of clinically relevant exercise for people living with neurological challenges, with a focus on Parkinson’s. Working in collaboration with Neuro Heroes specialist physiotherapists, Gold Award-winning podcasters Movers & Shakers, with support and seed-funding from Parkinson’s UK.

RESEARCH: we are working with Dr Tony Woods, neurologist Daniel van Wamelen and researcher Alessandra Borsini from King’s College London, to run clinical trials using neuro-imaging and in vitro experiments to establish brain-specific molecular mechanisms
